CSS Verticall Shaft & Horizontal Adit

The vertical shaft is a structure used for ventilation, disaster prevention, construction equipment work, etc., which is involved in the installation of a long tunnel, and the existing cast-in-place method is a process of installing concrete by installing reinforcing bars and formwork. However, due to many construction joins, the quality of the products deteriorates due to leakage problems, and there is a high risk of safety accidents due to assembly of reinforcing bars and repeated installation of formwork at high positions. (5 accident deaths and 5 deaths in the construction of the SRT high speed train in 2016), and the construction period is long.

A crossing is a tunnel (Horizontal adit) connecting a vertical shaft to a main tunnel. Generally, the extension is less than 50m. If the length of the tunnel is long, the tunnel formwork is produced separately. If the tunnel length is short, the construction work should be done on site.

However, there is a difficulty in not performing the process through a vertical shaft during the construction equipment of a tunnel formwork or field installation. In addition, there was a problem that it had to put more time and cost than expected perform budget planning.

Solution.1

CSS Vertical Shaft is installed on a modular CSS on the ground by installing a staircase, an vent adit and a necessary installation on a single modular CSS, assembling it by flange connection to a modular CSS using a crane New Technology (No. 804 "Construction of a self-leveling construction method using a flanged corrugated steel structure and assembled on the ground") is a method.

Compressive strength, bending strength and waterproofing performance of the connection part between module and module have been improved. As the construction period is shortened and the work is not done at high position, safety is secured compared to other methods.

Solution.2

The crossing application method connecting the main tunnel line and the vertical shaft is a new construction technique for constructing the CSS inside the excavated tunnel and injecting the concrete into the backside through the grouting hole made at the top and side of the CSS. It is a method of finishing the work in the inside. Since the CSS itself plays the role of stiffness and formwork, the construction period is shortened compared with the multi-step process such as concrete (reinforcement, formwork, scaffolding, curing).

For precise construction quality, pre-designed for excavation status (confirmation of over-excavation and un-excavation status) and 3-dimensional measurement of installed temporary installation facilities (Leica P30®, Cyclone®, ± 3mm) It is a construction method to construct by bolt assembly only. In Korea, we have been using the construction method to construct 14 stations including SRT and Gimpo Urban Railway since 2015 in Korea. Unlike the concrete method, it is possible to pass through the crossroads even during the construction, thus ensuring the convenience of construction.

Well (Open Caisson) and Breakwater Shore

The well (Open Caisson), which is installed as the foundation of a structure that must be installed to hard ground, is applied by making field reinforced concrete or plate steel in a circular shape, but increases the rigidity of EXSCor (10mm thick plate applied and Double Shell structure) enables quick construction along with economic feasibility on the bridge foundations, breakwater shores, and thermal power plants that use a lot of seawater. It is possible to apply 'High-strength anti-seawater for port and offshore structures: Poseidon500' for corrosion resistance, and it is possible to review the environment under various conditions through 3D FEA analysis.
